An eminent social worker who was groomed under the noble and patriotic influence of his mother Rani Dhanraj Pati Bakshi , a freedom fighter. As a young widow at 18 she developed her little to the freedom movement and died at the age of 39 due to injuries from a lathi charge at Lahore.
Young Raj Kumar Bakshi was much influenced by his mother living in courageous and turbulent times. He made vast contributions in the Bhoodan movement and was a strong supporter of the freedom struggle himself. As a social worker and philanthropist he alleviated several lives and gave hope to many to live better. Setting up educational institution for the masses to spread the light of literacy was one of his ways of contributing to the society.
The institution set up as per his wishes in 1980 embodies his ideals of Vision, Wisdom and Strength.
